Two closely related species of white-fringed weevils (Naupactus leucoloma and N. peregrinus) originated in the La Plata region of Argentina and Uruguay, but have become established in several places around the world, including the south-eastern United States of America, Australia, New Zealand.
This guide shows some of the salient features which can distinguish between the two species. The features shown should allow recognition of the two species from photographs, or in the field.
